I know I’m old now that I have a kid that can drive to school. Yikes, I’m not prepared for this new, brave world. While she’s done an excellent job of driving, I cannot help but jump every time my phone rings when I know she’s on the road. Ring! Jump! Choke down heart! And of course, it is someone reminding me that I forgot about a meeting.
The worse part of the whole thing is that her car is cooler than mine. My Explorer with 100,000 miles on it, is as boring as boring gets. Well, I guess it isn’t a Camry; I’d rather shoot myself than drive one of those things! So what’s so cool with her car you ask? Well for starters, she can talk to it and it does what she wants. Geez, I can’t get her to listen when I talk. To call someone, she just says “Call home” and her car and phone work together to call home. Or she says “Play artist Jonas Brothers” and some horrific sounding noise comes out of her car from her iPod. I want those cool things.
Alright, back to the night job
